Dengue Toll in KP Rises to 5,959

Peshawar:The dengue outbreak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shows no signs of easing, with health authorities confirming 43 new cases across the province, including Peshawar, over the past 24 hours.
According to the KP Health Department, the latest figures have pushed the number of active dengue cases to 288, while the total cases reported in the province this year have reached 5,959. In the last day alone, 12 patients were admitted to hospitals for treatment.
A separate dengue situation report by the Directorate General of Health Services KP indicated that out of the total 5,959 cases, 2,063 patients required hospitalization, while 5,702 have recovered. The outbreak has claimed four lives this year, including one death reported in the past 24 hours.
Authorities have urged citizens to take preventive measures, including eliminating stagnant water, maintaining proper sanitation, and seeking early medical attention to curb the spread of the virus.
The provincial government continues to monitor the situation closely, emphasizing the need for public cooperation to control the vector-borne infection.

Dengue Cases Drop Sharply in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi has seen a significant decline in dengue infections, with the District Health Authority (DHA) reporting just five new confirmed cases over the past 24 hours, officials said Wednesday.
According to the latest DHA data, the total number of confirmed dengue cases in the district this year has reached 1,553, while hospital admissions have also declined, with only 13 patients currently under treatment.

No deaths due to dengue have been reported so far. In total, 23,828 suspected patients have been screened in hospitals across the district this year.
In ongoing vector surveillance efforts, health teams inspected over 6.64 million houses, identifying larvae in 214,345 premises. Additionally, more than 1.97 million outdoor spots were checked, with 29,302 found positive for mosquito larvae.
Authorities have intensified enforcement of dengue SOPs, registering 4,852 FIRs, sealing 1,945 properties, issuing 3,767 challans, and imposing fines totaling over Rs 11.45 million against violations.
Officials credited these measures and public cooperation for the sharp reduction in new cases and urged residents to continue adhering to preventive practices.
