Dengue Situation Improves as Temperature Declines

Lahore: After a decrease in temperatures, there are positive signs of improvement in the dengue outbreak in Punjab. Thursday’s report reveals 64 new cases, bringing this year’s total confirmed cases to 14,649 spread across 36 districts.

Lahore continues to be the most heavily affected, reporting 6,719 cases, followed by Rawalpindi with 2,643, Gujranwala with 1,555, Multan with 1,404, and Faisalabad with 871 cases.

In the recent update, Lahore recorded 31 new cases, Rawalpindi 2, Gujranwala 9, Multan 6, Faisalabad 6, and Sheikhupura 3. Other districts such as Kasur, Attock, Khanewal, Rahimyar Khan, Khushab, Rajanpur, and Layyah reported one case each in the last 24 hours.

Presently, 48 patients are receiving treatment in Punjab hospitals, with 26 in Lahore specifically. Health Secretary Ali Jaan Khan emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and urged citizens to cooperate with health teams.

A helpline (1033) is available for information, complaints, or dengue treatment. Remaining vigilant and implementing proactive measures are crucial in curtailing the spread of dengue.
