Dengue Outbreak: 115 New Cases Reported, 219 Hospitalized

Rawalpindi: The dengue outbreak continues to escalate, with 115 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. Daily numbers fluctuate, reflecting the ongoing battle against the virus.
According to data released by the District Health Authority, a total of 219 patients are currently receiving treatment in allied hospitals.
Since January, 3,735 cases of dengue fever have been diagnosed, a figure still lower than those recorded in 2023.
The latest report indicates that 59 patients from the peri-urban areas of Potohar Town and 19 individuals from Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) areas have been diagnosed with dengue in the past day.
Tragically, the outbreak has resulted in eight fatalities, including one death from the Murree district.
The District Health Authority has urged citizens to adhere to dengue standard operating procedures (SOPs) and exercise personal responsibility to help combat the spread of the disease.
