Dengue Epidemic Escalates As Punjab Records 10,758 Cases This Year

Lahore: The Health Department reported 215 new cases of dengue fever in various parts of Punjab on Wednesday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 10,758 across 36 districts this year.

Currently, 192 patients are receiving treatment in different emergency clinics across Punjab, with 103 of them hospitalised in Lahore district.

The situation is still continuing, with Sheikhupura reporting 5 cases, Rahimyar Khan 2,where as Kasur, Muzaffargarh, Sahiwal, Okara, Khanewal, Pakpattan, Khushab and Bhakkar each reported one case of dengue.

Punjab Health Secretary Ali Jaan Khan issued a compelling plea for citizens to maintain clean and dry surroundings as a preventive measure against dengue fever. Khan urged cooperation with health department teams which are working tirelessly to combat the outbreak.
