Dengue Death Toll in Bangladesh Rises to 101

Dhaka: The death toll from dengue in Bangladesh this year has climbed to 101, with three more fatalities reported in the past 24 hours, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said on Sunday.
According to the DGHS, two of the latest deaths occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation and one in the southeastern Chittagong Division. Of the total fatalities, 45 were reported in Dhaka South, 11 in Dhaka North, and 17 in Chittagong.
In the last 24 hours, 448 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals, pushing the total number of cases this year to 24,183. Of these, 22,708 patients have recovered and been discharged. Women account for 39.3% of the total cases.
The Barisal Division reported the highest number of new admissions over the past day, with 95 patients, followed by 84 in Dhaka Division and 81 in Chittagong Division.
Bangladesh recorded its worst dengue outbreak in 2023, with 1,705 deaths and 321,179 cases, according to official data.
