Dengue Crisis Deepens: Punjab Records 223 New Cases In 24 Hrs

Lahore: Punjab continues to grapple with the dengue outbreak, as 223 new cases were reported on Thursday alone.

According to the latest data from the Health Department, a staggering total of 12,268 confirmed dengue cases have surfaced across 36 districts in Punjab this year.

Currently, 173 patients are undergoing treatment in various emergency clinics throughout Punjab, with 80 of them hospitalized in the Lahore district.

The situation continues, with Sheikhupura 8, Sargodha with 03,Toba Tek Singh with 02 and Chiniot with 02 new dengue cases. Meanwhile,Kasur, Sahiwal, Sialkot, Chakwal, Gujrat, Rahimyar Khan, Vehari, Jhang, Pakpattan and Rajanpur each reported a case of dengue within 24 hours.

Punjab Health Secretary Ali Jaan Khan issued a compelling plea for citizens to maintain clean and dry surroundings as a preventive measure against dengue fever. Khan urged cooperation with health department teams, which are working tirelessly to combat the outbreak.
