Dengue Cases Mount to 1,255 as 84 New Cases Reported in Pindi

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi has reported 84 new confirmed dengue cases, bringing the total number of patients this year to 1,255 in the last 24 hours.

According to data released by the District Health Department on Monday, there are currently 174 patients undergoing treatment in various allied hospitals across Rawalpindi.

While the dengue-related fatalities remain at five, seriously affected patients are receiving special attention in medical facilities.

The report highlights that the highest number of cases—47—was reported from Pothohar Town’s peri-urban areas.

Additionally, 14 cases were recorded in Rawalpindi, three in Chaklala Cantt Board areas, and 13 from localities under the Municipal Corporation during the last 24 hours.

In response to the rising dengue cases, the health authority has intensified its efforts to detect larvae and enforce dengue standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Since January 2024, fines totaling Rs 16,839,000 have been imposed for violations of these SOPs, reflecting the seriousness of the ongoing dengue outbreak and the measures being taken to combat it.
