Deadly Fog Causes Bus Overturn, Three Dead, Several Injured
News Desk
Islamabad: At least three passengers were killed and several others injured when a bus overturned due to dense fog on Jamaldin Wali Road near Sadiqabad on Wednesday.
According to rescue officials, the bus was en route when poor visibility caused by thick fog led to the accident. Three passengers died on the spot, while several others sustained injuries, some of them serious, private news channels reported.
The injured were rushed to the nearby Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for medical treatment.
Rescue teams reached the scene shortly after the crash and launched an operation to assist victims and secure the area. Emergency services also worked to clear the wreckage and restore traffic flow.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, focusing on road conditions and reduced visibility due to fog.
Elderly man dies after falling into Korangi nullah in Karachi
A 70-year-old man lost his life after falling into an open drain in Karachi’s Korangi area, private news channel 24NewsHD reported on Wednesday.
The tragic incident occurred in Zaman Town No. 4, near Kabaddi Ground, where the absence of streetlights and protective walls around the nullah reportedly contributed to the accident.

According to initial details, the elderly man was walking alongside his bicycle while carrying luggage when he suddenly slipped and fell into the drain. Local residents said poor visibility and unsafe infrastructure in the area posed a serious risk to pedestrians, especially at night.
The incident has once again drawn attention to Karachi’s long-standing issue of uncovered drains and inadequate safety measures.
Earlier this month, public anger erupted across the city after the body of three-year-old Ibrahim was recovered nearly 15 hours after he fell into an open manhole near Nipa Chowrangi in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
The child had reportedly slipped into the uncovered manhole on Sunday night while his family, visiting from Shah Faisal Colony, stepped out of a departmental store. Rescue 1122 later confirmed that there was no lid on the manhole at the time of the incident.
Both incidents have triggered sharp criticism of the Sindh government and Karachi’s municipal authorities, with citizens, journalists and political leaders terming the deaths a result of “criminal negligence.”
