Lahore: Around 185 new dengue cases were reported in the provincial capital during the last 24 hours. More than 1,864 places were fumigated, while a total of 59,079 in-door and 9,371 out-door places are inspected during the same period, according to Deputy Commissioner Rafia Haider.
Indoor residual spraying (IRS) is also conducted at 8,626 places, stated Rafia Haider.
The anti-dengue drive initiated by the district administration is in full swing and surveillance is being carried out at various points in the provincial capital.
Rafia visited Union Council UC-127 Model Town on Tuesday, where she inspected anti-dengue arrangements and instructed house owners about dengue preventive measures.
Deputy Commissioner reviewed the case response in the houses of dengue patients and nearby areas, as well as inquired about the health of patients and the field teams’ responses.
Rafia examined the neighbourhood’s residences, vacant lots and commercial marketplaces to evaluate the removal of dengue larvae. She also examined the performance and attendance of the local anti-dengue squad.
DC Haider instructed the field teams to register dengue cases on the official dashboard and also ensure door marking after indoor surveillance.
DC advised checking all of the city parks after the recent rain. She gave orders to the dengue teams stationed in the area to ramp up the fumigation process and carry out precise door marking in the fields. Additional input from APP
