Cutting-Edge Technology Ensures Temperature at Makkah
News Desk
Islamabad: The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque in Saudi Arabia utilizes advanced technology to manage temperatures within the Grand Mosque in Makkah year-round, ensuring a pleasant and healthy environment for worshippers regardless of extreme weather conditions.
The internal temperature is carefully controlled to fall within a comfortable range of 20 to 24 degrees Celsius, with air handling units operating efficiently during summer months and reduced usage during winter.
Fresh air is purified through a multi-stage process, removing dust and other contaminants, while ultraviolet sterilization eliminates bacteria and germs, ensuring clean air circulation in prayer halls. The General Administration for Operation and Maintenance oversees these efforts, with skilled Saudi engineers and technicians monitoring temperature, humidity, and system operations.
Technicians oversee airflow within the Grand Mosque, adjusting to changing visitor numbers and density to ensure ideal thermal comfort while prioritizing energy efficiency. Maintenance practices strictly follow technical guidelines and safety protocols, ensuring the well-being of all visitors.
