Rawalpindi: In anticipation of Eid-ul-Azha, the City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has introduced a special traffic management plan to ensure smooth vehicular flow near temporary cattle markets across the district.

According to a CTP spokesperson, over 74 personnel—including circle officers, sector in-charges, traffic wardens, and traffic assistants—have been deployed at key locations in Rawalpindi and surrounding areas.

The cattle markets have been set up at Bhatta Chowk (Rawalpindi), Mauza Ranyal on Chakri Road, Galiana Road (Gujar Khan), Tangi Road (Kahuta), Mangal Bypass (Kallar Syedan), HIT Athar Bazaar (Taxila), and near Sharif Hospital Stop on GT Road (Wah Cantt).

Special traffic duties have been assigned to manage congestion and prevent illegal parking around these areas. Traffic wardens will also assist and guide citizens to follow road safety rules while buying or selling sacrificial animals.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Beenish Fatima has appealed to the public to park only in designated parking zones and avoid purchasing or selling livestock on roadways. She urged citizens to cooperate fully with the traffic staff to ensure public convenience and safety.

A traffic helpline—051-9274843—has been activated to assist citizens with any traffic-related concerns during the festive period.
