CM Maryam Nawaz Lauds Baloch Culture on Cultural Day

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday lauded the rich and vibrant culture of Balochistan, highlighting the significance of cultural celebrations in preserving traditions and values.
In her message on Baloch Culture Day, the CM emphasized that the culture of every province in Pakistan deserves respect and forms an integral part of the nation’s collective identity.
She described Baloch culture as “deeply captivating,” noting that while “the flowers may be different, the bouquet is one.”
She highlighted symbols of heritage such as the dignified white turban, intricately embroidered Balochi attire, and traditional dances, which reflect a blend of love, courage, and hospitality.
CM Maryam Nawaz underscored the importance of promoting cultural traditions to acquaint younger generations with their heritage. Referring to her recent visit to Quetta, she said the remarkable hospitality and cultural expressions she witnessed had left a lasting impression.

Sindh Reaffirms Minority Rights
In a related development, the Sindh Government extended greetings to the Hindu community on the occasion of Holi, emphasizing harmony and the province’s shared cultural heritage.
Sindh Government spokesperson Sukhdev Hemnani reiterated the government’s commitment to religious freedom and minority rights, announcing enhanced security measures at places of worship.
In solidarity with the Muslim community and in respect of the sanctity of Ramadan, the Hindu community in Sindh decided to cancel Holi celebrations this year.
The Sindh Government also declared official holidays for Hindus on March 3 and 4.
Hemnani highlighted efforts by the PPP-led government under Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to ensure equal citizenship, inclusion, and representation for minorities through measures such as the Sindh Hindu Marriage Amendment Act, minority job quotas, and political representation in the Senate.
The statements by Punjab and Sindh authorities together underline a nationwide emphasis on cultural appreciation, interfaith harmony, and the preservation of provincial traditions.
