China Announces Scholarships for Pakistani Students

Lahore: Pakistani students and youth have been offered new opportunities for education and employment abroad.
The Government of China has announced fully-funded scholarships for Pakistani students to pursue Masters and PhD programs. According to Punjab Higher Education Department (PHED) sources, the scholarships cover tuition fees, accommodation, medical facilities, and a monthly stipend.
Students from the fields of engineering, sciences, and social sciences are eligible to apply. Applications will be processed through the Higher Education Commission (HEC), with the deadline set for January 18, 2026.
Punjab Government’s Parwaz Card Program
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has unveiled the Parwaz Card Program, offering interest-free financial assistance to one lakh youth aspiring for jobs abroad. The initiative aims to help young people meet travel and other expenses while pursuing employment opportunities overseas.
Eligibility for the program requires applicants to be 18 years or older, domiciled in Punjab, and holding a valid job offer from abroad. According to government sources, the program will not only provide employment opportunities but also strengthen the country’s economy by increasing remittances.
A transparent application and approval system will be implemented to ensure that financial assistance reaches only deserving and qualified candidates. The project is expected to roll out soon.
