Celebrities Speak Out Against Balochistan Honour Killing Tragedy

Islamabad: Celebrities across Pakistan have taken to social media to voice their support for the victims of a recent honour killing in Balochistan.

Last month, a couple was shot dead on the orders of a local tribal Jirga in Dagari, on the outskirts of the provincial capital. The incident drew nationwide attention after a video circulated on social media showing men forcibly removing the couple from a vehicle and leading them into the desert, where they were executed at close range.Celebrities Speak Out Against Balochistan Honour Killing TragedyActor Hania Aamir posted a powerful message on Instagram, addressing broader gender issues in Pakistan. She wrote, “If women were to start killing for honour, no man would remain.”

Tamkenat Mansoor expressed her anger over the tragedy, stating, “This society hates women,” a sentiment echoed by many following the Balochistan incident. Honour killings have continued to claim the lives of numerous Pakistani women throughout 2024 and 2025, driven by entrenched societal norms that label certain actions as dishonourable. From January to November 2024 alone, 346 people fell victim to honour crimes nationwide.
