CDF Munir Conferred King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellent Class

Islamabad: Saudi Arabia has conferred its King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellent Class, the kingdom’s highest national honour, on Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Monday.

The award was granted under a royal decree issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in recognition of Field Marshal Munir’s distinguished military service, leadership, and efforts in advancing defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

During his official visit to the kingdom, CDF Munir met with Saudi Minister of Defence, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, where the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional security dynamics, defence and military collaboration, and evolving geopolitical challenges.CDF Munir Conferred King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellent ClassThe ISPR described the meeting as reaffirming the “deep-rooted, historic, and brotherly relations” between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia

The award also highlights Field Marshal Munir’s contributions to regional peace and stability, particularly through sustained cooperation in counter-terrorism and security initiatives.

The Saudi leadership reportedly conveyed appreciation for CDF Munir’s professionalism and strategic outlook, acknowledging his role in strengthening bilateral ties.

 In response, Field Marshal Munir expressed gratitude to King Salman and the Saudi leadership, describing the honour as a reflection of the enduring bonds between the two countries, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the kingdom’s security, stability, and prosperity.
