Bus Driver Killed, 21 Injured in Shujabad Crash

Multan: A bus driver was killed and 21 passengers sustained injuries in a road accident near Shujabad on Friday morning, while in a separate incident, one man lost his life and two others were injured after being hit by a train in Multan.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, a passenger bus traveling from Karachi to Multan collided with a container parked along the motorway near Beat No. 760, Shujabad. As a result, the bus driver, Ahmad Jan (50), son of Gul Zaman, died on the spot, while 21 passengers were injured.
Upon receiving the information, Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation under the supervision of Emergency Officer Engineer Bilal. Twelve injured passengers were shifted to Nishtar Hospital, while nine others were given first aid on the spot.

The injured were identified as Adnan, Sultan, Fatima, Sharifullah, Jay Raam, Waseem, Amina, Shahzaib, Akram, Zahid, Taj Bibi, Jawaria, Uzma, Ameesa, Keeba, Muhammad Hanif, and Hina Laraib, among others. Motorway Police also reached the scene and assisted in rescue efforts.
In another incident, a man was killed and two others were injured after being hit by a train near the railway underpass in Multan. Rescue officials said the deceased, who was crossing the track while listening to his mobile phone, failed to notice the approaching train and was struck.
Two passersby who tried to pull him away were also injured as they fell to the ground during the attempt. Rescue 1122 teams shifted the victims to Nishtar Hospital. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained until the filing of this report, while the injured were stated to be under treatment.
