BTS’ Suga Plans First Solo Tour Around US, Asia

Islamabad: BTS member Suga is set to make history as the first member of the South Korean group to embark on a solo world tour, marking a major step in the band’s move toward individual projects.

The rapper and producer, whose real name is Min Yoongi, announced the tour during an unexpected livestream appearance, revealing that his solo concerts are scheduled to begin in April 2023.

According to BTS’ agency Big Hit Music, the tour will run from April to June and include performances across the United States and Asia. The opening shows are scheduled at New York’s UBS Arena, followed by venues including Prudential Center in Newark and Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

The tour will also take Suga to Bangkok’s Impact Arena and Singapore’s Indoor Stadium, while dates for Japan were expected to be announced separately.

Suga is widely known for his work as a rapper, songwriter and producer. In addition to his work with BTS, he has released solo music under the name Agust D and has collaborated with artists including Psy. He also worked as a producer on Psy’s hit track ‘That That’.

The announcement comes as BTS members pursue individual projects during the group’s temporary break. The seven-member band said last year that its members would focus on solo activities while some members complete South Korea’s mandatory military service.

Suga’s tour will give fans an opportunity to see the artist perform independently from BTS, with concert dates expected to generate significant international interest.

Ticket pre-booking was scheduled to begin in March, with fans eagerly awaiting the return of major international concert tours that had been disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
