Banks Closed on Feb 5 for Kashmir Day

Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), along with all banks and financial institutions across the country, will remain closed on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in observance of Kashmir Day.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the SBP said the holiday is being observed to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, in line with the public holiday declared by the Government of Pakistan.

“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on Thursday, February 5, 2026, being a public holiday on the occasion of ‘Kashmir Day’,” the statement said.

Following the SBP’s announcement, all commercial banks, microfinance banks, development finance institutions, and other financial institutions will also remain closed on the same day.
