Anti-Dengue Activities Gear Up in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi: The District Health Authority Rawalpindi has ramped up anti-dengue efforts in response to the monsoon season, which is conducive to the breeding of dengue larvae.

A review meeting of Union Council (UC) in-charges of Rawal Town was held under the leadership of District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Ehsan Ghani.

The meeting focused on the implementation of anti-dengue measures.

Addressing the attendees, Dr Ghani emphasized the strict enforcement of anti-dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). He stated that anti-dengue activities would continue with more effective measures in light of the monsoon rains and that no violations of the SOPs would be tolerated.

In addition to the meeting, the District Health Authority conducted training sessions for health workers on the prevention and control of dengue.

Entomologists provided lectures on anti-dengue activities during these sessions.

CEO of the District Health Authority Rawalpindi, Dr Muhammad Asif Khan, along with DHO Dr Ehsan Ghani and Deputy District Health Officer (DDHO) Dr Javed Iqbal Soomro, reviewed the training.

They expressed optimism that the discussions would further enhance the capacity of health workers to address issues related to the anti-dengue campaign.

The authority’s proactive measures aim to mitigate the spread of dengue during the critical monsoon period.
