Islamabad: Analysts and former diplomats have warned that the recent US and Israeli attacks on Iran, in which Britain reportedly joined, could have dangerous implications for Pakistan and the wider region.

Iran has retaliated by striking US airbases in the Middle East, reportedly causing casualties among US forces, further escalating tensions.

Speaking to Geo News, former ambassador Masood Khan said the dangerous effects of the war are likely to be felt in Pakistan. He warned that Iran has vowed revenge, making the Iran-Israel conflict a serious challenge for the country.

Former ambassador Maleeha Lodhi said that, as a neighboring country, Pakistan should openly condemn the attacks.

She added that America’s tactic of negotiating and then striking undermines global trust in Washington and predicted that Iran will now act more openly. Lodhi also remarked that the UN and international law appear ineffective, describing the global situation as “very dangerous.”

National Security Affairs expert Syed Mohammad Ali stated that Iran’s attacks on US bases could isolate Tehran further. He said that the negotiations were not aimed at peace, and if the war spreads to Arab countries, Iran may become more isolated.

Former ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry commented that the truth about Iran’s missile capabilities will become clear soon and that Iranian leadership is being directly targeted. He warned that if Iran responds forcefully, it could create serious problems for the US and Israel, noting that China is unlikely to intervene as it did in the Pakistan-India conflict.

Senior politician Mushahid Hussain Syed urged strong Muslim countries to take a stand, emphasizing that the war has reached Pakistan’s borders and describing the conflict as rooted in deceit.

As tensions escalate in the Middle East, experts warn that Pakistan and neighboring countries must closely monitor developments, as regional instability could have significant political, economic, and security consequences.
