Islamabad: The first death anniversary of the passing of the esteemed poet, playwright, and literary icon, Amjad Islam Amjad, was commemorated.
Amjad, born on August 4, 1944, in Lahore, made significant contributions to the realms of poetry, drama, and literature.
Throughout his illustrious career, spanning over 40 books, he left an indelible mark on the literary landscape.
Renowned for his prowess in poetry, drama, and literature, Amjad received prestigious awards such as the Pride of Performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his exceptional achievements.
Beyond national borders, his work transcended cultural boundaries, and he even contributed lyrics to the notable Bollywood song “Mann Ki Lagan” in 2003, marking the debut of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in the Indian music industry.
Amjad’s legacy endures through timeless television series like “Waris,” “Dehleez,” “Samandar,” “Waqt,” “Fishaar,” “Raat,” “Din,” “Eendhen,” and “Inkaar,” which continue to captivate audiences.
