AIOU, VU Students Included in PM Laptop Scheme

Islamabad: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has included students of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) and Virtual University (VU) in the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, aiming to promote digital learning among distance education students.

According to an official press release issued on Saturday, the initiative seeks to equip deserving and merit-based students with laptops to enhance their academic activities.

By integrating modern technology, the scheme will not only improve students’ educational capabilities but also provide them with global-standard online learning opportunities.

Students are encouraged to visit the official HEC website or contact their respective universities for details on eligibility and the application process.

Vice Chancellor of AIOU, Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, and Acting Rector of VU welcomed the decision, calling it a significant step toward an “educational revolution.” They expressed gratitude to HEC, stating that the initiative would play a crucial role in providing modern educational facilities to students.

They further emphasized that the scheme would enhance the quality of education and pave the way for a brighter and more successful future for students.
