Karachi: The ongoing situation in the Middle East has led to the postponement of the white-ball cricket series between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on Wednesday.

The series, originally scheduled to take place in the UAE from March 13 to 25, has now been rescheduled to a later date before the end of 2026. The decision was taken due to logistical challenges arising from the regional situation.

The T20 matches were set for March 13, 15, and 17 at Sharjah Stadium, while the three ODIs were planned for March 20, 22, and 25 in Dubai. The ACB confirmed that new dates will be communicated in due course.

Officials said the move is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of players, staff, and fans amid heightened regional tensions.
