Cricket once again dominated search trends, with the ICC T20 World Cup capturing the nation’s attention. Queries related to Pakistan’s matches against India, England, and Australia consistently ranked high.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 also generated significant interest, with fans searching for schedules, matchups, and player performances. Notable athletes like Shoaib Malik and Sajid Khan were frequently searched, while Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem became a trending topic after his historic achievement.

In entertainment, Pakistani dramas and Bollywood films remained popular. Local productions like Ishq Murshid and Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum attracted significant attention, while Indian films like Animal, Dunki, and Stree 2 created cross-border buzz.

Reality shows like Bigg Boss 17 and the eagerly awaited Mirzapur Season 3 also ranked high among searches.

Culinary interests were equally diverse, with Pakistanis looking up recipes for both traditional dishes like malpura and tawa kaleji and global favorites such as banana bread and creamy pasta.

Quick and easy recipes like garlic bread and egg noodles saw a surge, alongside seasonal drinks like peach iced tea, showcasing the nation’s evolving food culture.

The rise of artificial intelligence also shaped Pakistan’s search trends, with tools like Gemini and Remaker AI gaining popularity. Tech-savvy consumers showed strong interest in smartphones, particularly models from Infinix, Redmi, and Apple.

Practical “how-to” searches, ranging from polling station queries to parenting tips, highlighted a growing reliance on digital platforms for everyday needs.

Farhan Qureshi, Google’s Country Director for Pakistan, remarked, “This year’s Year in Search reflects a nation deeply rooted in its traditions while embracing the opportunities of the digital era. From cricket fields to kitchen counters and from the big screen to search bars, Pakistanis are using Google to explore, connect, and grow.”
