Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration announced on Thursday that while educational institutions in the Federal Capital will close in preparation for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting, centers conducting A-Level and O-Level exams will remain open to ensure the exams proceed as scheduled.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, confirmed that students taking these exams will not be affected by the city-wide closures. The A-Level and O-Level exams will be held at three designated centers: E-11, Noormahal GT Road, and H-8 examination centers, which will operate as planned to facilitate students.
While these exam centers will remain functional, all other educational institutions across Islamabad will be closed during the SCO meeting.
Additionally, the district administration addressed rumors regarding the closure of wedding halls, restaurants, and cafes during the SCO session, stating that there is no basis for these claims.
No directives have been issued by either the federal government or the district administration regarding the closure of such venues.
Wedding halls will be permitted to operate but must adhere to the traffic plan established by local authorities. Roads near the meeting venue will be closed, and traffic restrictions will be enforced in specific areas.
