Experts Discuss Women’s Psychological, Physical Wellbeing In Peshawar

News Desk

Peshawar: The recent happenings like the COVID-19 infection and its stress on the mental health of people, prevailing financial stress and climate change are affecting the health of women who, in a bid to take care of their families in all such stresses, ignore their own selves, said former Executive Member of the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peshawar (WCCIP) Saira Qureshi.

A health awareness symposium with a focus on psychological and physical well-being of working women was held at the National Incubation Centre (NIC) in Peshawar with clinical experts discussing pressing issues threatening the physical and mental health of female folk.

The activity was organised by Pakistan-US Alumni Network (PUAN) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chapter Executive Board Member Saira Qureshi with sponsorship by the US Mission in collaboration with PUAN.

“It was a one-of-a-kind health awareness symposium held in Peshawar where clinical experts dwelt upon issues badly impacting women’s health,” stated Saira Qureshi.

Saira added that this activity is a pilot project started in Peshawar, and its scope would be widened with the passage of time by replicating in other areas besides involving students who also need counselling to avoid the stress of studies on their mental and physical health, counselling sessions for women entrepreneurs, etc.
