Islamabad: Health experts have emphasized the critical importance of staying hydrated during the hot summer months, highlighting water’s essential role in supporting bodily functions and preventing dehydration.

The report noted that seasonal changes—especially the shift to summer—can negatively affect the skin’s appearance. It emphasized that drinking water helps maintain skin hydration and radiance, while the use of suitable skincare products remains important for preserving skin health.

Specialists explained that water is vital for regulating body temperature, protecting the body from dehydration, and lowering the risk of heatstroke and fever.

The study also found that chronic dehydration can reduce blood circulation, limiting the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the brain. This can lead to impaired memory and concentration in individuals who do not consume enough water.

Additionally, the report linked inadequate water intake to increased anxiety and irritability. It highlighted that dehydration disrupts brain cell function and affects other organs, whereas proper hydration can enhance mood and help protect against depression and mood disorders.

Healthcare professionals noted that during summer, the body demands more energy due to increased sweating. They stated that water helps transport vital nutrients throughout the body, aiding in energy maintenance.

Citing various studies, the report also indicated that higher water consumption supports weight loss, particularly in overweight and obese individuals. It found that drinking enough water in combination with a calorie-controlled diet and regular exercise contributes to fat reduction.

Water also boosts blood circulation by effectively distributing oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. Maintaining adequate hydration was shown to have a positive impact on overall health.

Finally, the report dispelled a common myth about drinking water during meals. Experts confirmed that consuming water before, during, and after meals can actually aid digestion and improve the body’s ability to absorb nutrients.
