Rain, Gusty Winds to Hit Islamabad, Rawalpindi

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and gusty winds in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and several other regions of Pakistan on Monday and Tuesday, with occasional breaks.
A shallow westerly wave is currently influencing the northwestern parts of the country and is expected to persist in the upper regions for the next two days.
As a result, cold and dry weather will prevail across most areas on Sunday night. However, light rain and snowfall are anticipated in northwestern Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
On Monday and Tuesday, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to experience cloudy weather with intermittent rain. Hilly areas in these regions may also witness light snowfall.
The minimum temperatures in Islamabad and Rawalpindi are expected to range between 4-6°C and 5-7°C, respectively.
Over the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather dominated the country, with extreme cold in hilly regions. Leh recorded the lowest temperature at -7°C, followed by Skardu, Gupis, and Ziarat at -6°C. Other cold spots included Bagrote, Parachinar, and Hunza (-3°C), Kalam (-2°C), and Kakul, Rawalakot, and Gilgit (-1°C).
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 5°C, with an evening humidity level of 16%. Rawalpindi reported a low of 6°C, with evening humidity at 14%.
