Imam Assassinated in Lakki Marwat, Madrasa Roof Caves in Injuring One

Peshawar: An imam was allegedly shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Lakki Marwat, while a separate incident in Kohat left one person seriously injured due to a madrasa roof collapse.

In Lakki Marwat, police reported that the incident occurred in Darra Pezu, where six armed men took Imam Qari Sanaullah outside the mosque and shot him dead. The assailants fled the scene on motorcycles.

The deceased was an English teacher at a private school and a key member of the peace committee in his village, Pahar Khel Pakka.

A case has been registered against unknown individuals based on the complaint of his wife, and an investigation is underway.

In a separate incident in Kohat, a 70-year-old man sustained serious injuries when the verandah roof of a madrasa collapsed in the Nave Kale area due to its deteriorating condition.

Rescue 1122 teams arrived promptly and pulled out the injured, identified as Saeed Rakim, before shifting him to DHQ Hospital. Officials confirmed the completion of the search operation, stating that no further casualties were reported.
