Govt Imposes Ban on PTM Citing Security Threats

Islamabad: The federal government has officially imposed a ban on the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), citing concerns over national peace and security.
According to a notification issued by the Interior Ministry, the PTM has been declared “unlawful” under Section 11B of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997. The ministry’s statement emphasized that the PTM poses a “significant danger” to public order and safety in the country.
The decision follows growing concerns over the group’s activities and their potential threat to national security.
