Islamabad: Residents of the federal capital are embracing the comfort and convenience of electric buses, which offer an affordable and environmentally friendly transportation option across various sectors of the city.

Waqar Ali, a resident of G-11, praised the quality of the electric buses, noting that the introduction of this modern public transportation system would reduce the overwhelming number of automobiles in Islamabad.

“With the launch of mass transit public transport, citizens now have a modern, comfortable commute,” he said.

Waqar, a regular passenger, highlighted the buses’ international standards, spacious seating, air conditioning, and superior cleanliness, contrasting them with the often untidy and overcrowded traditional public transport.

He commended the initiative of the current government, led by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and acknowledged the role of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in launching these electric buses.

The service extends to sectors not previously covered by the Metro Bus system, providing greater accessibility for citizens.

Huma Rafique, a student residing in G-8 Markaz, shared her satisfaction with the new electric buses.

As a student, she found them a cheaper, more eco-friendly option compared to other forms of public transport. She also appreciated the PML-N government for initiating this project, in addition to the Metro Bus Service that connects Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The electric bus service in the capital was inaugurated by Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi.

Many citizens have expressed their appreciation for the new service, which has made traveling across all sectors of Islamabad more convenient.

The CDA charges a flat fare of Rs 50 per passenger, and charging stations have been established at the Convention Center and H-9 to ensure uninterrupted operations.
