Efforts Underway to Make Islamabad the Safest City: DIG

Islamabad: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, Syed Ali Raza, chaired a significant meeting with Saddar Zone police officers on Wednesday at his office.

During the meeting, which included Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Zone Hakam Khan, SDPOs, SHOs, and crime control teams, the DIG thoroughly reviewed the performance of police officials.

He recognized and rewarded officers for exemplary performance while issuing show-cause notices to those with unsatisfactory records.

DIG Raza stressed that future meetings will continue to assess the performance of all officers, emphasizing that there will be no compromise on crime rates. He directed police officials and crime control teams to take proactive measures to prevent incidents of robbery, dacoity, and theft in their jurisdictions.

“Under the supervision of SHOs, special teams will be tasked with apprehending absconders, proclaimed offenders, and gang members,” DIG Raza stated. He added that these teams will implement effective strategies to minimize criminal activities, with daily progress reviews on their efforts.

The DIG reiterated the importance of proactivity among all police officers in combating crime. He also assured that officers demonstrating exemplary performance will receive commendations, while those exhibiting negligence or poor performance will face departmental action.

Ali Raza concluded by urging police officers to prioritize citizen safety and convenience, reiterating that protecting the lives and property of Islamabad’s residents remains the foremost goal of the police force, and that any negligence or incompetence will not be tolerated.
