Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) organized a cleanliness awareness camp today at Commercial Market, Satellite Town, to highlight the importance of cleanliness and dengue prevention.
A RWMC spokesperson reported that the company’s communication and social mobilization team distributed pamphlets detailing the significance of cleanliness and the dangers of dengue.
The spokesperson urged residents to eliminate sources of stagnant water and regularly check areas such as junkyards, schools, under-construction sites, and other potential breeding grounds for dengue larvae.
Additionally, residents were encouraged to support sanitation staff by disposing of garbage in designated containers and avoiding the dumping of waste on roads, drains, and open plots.
The public was also advised against burning chemicals and waste within the city. For any cleanliness-related issues, citizens are encouraged to contact the helpline at 1139.
