Hindu Community in Sukkur celebrates ‘Raksha Bandhan’

News Desk

Sukkur: The Hindu community in Sukkur celebrated Raksha Bandhan, a festival symbolizing brotherhood, at the Sadhu Bela Temple on Monday. Participants, dressed in colorful attire, observed the festival by tying protective Rakhi threads and distributing sweets.

This annual tradition takes place during the Savan or Sravana month of the lunar calendar, marked by the sighting of the full moon. Hindu women tie Rakhi threads around their brothers’ wrists while praying for their safety.

In return, the brothers bless their sisters, vow to protect them, and give gifts as tokens of their love and affection.
