ICT Admin Intensifies Dengue Control Efforts After 14 Cases Reported

Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration is intensifying efforts to combat the spread of dengue following the report of 14 cases across 604 locations. The situation was reviewed in a crucial meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Usman Ashraf.

During the meeting, ADC Ashraf directed district administration officials to ramp up their efforts to control dengue larvae and prevent their breeding in the Federal Capital. The discussion centered on strategies to curb the spread of dengue, particularly through the elimination of mosquito larvae.

District administration officials reported actions taken against several business centers and under-construction sites where dengue larvae were found. This crackdown resulted in the arrest of individuals who failed to comply with dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

In the past week, 604 locations were inspected for dengue larvae. Of these, 174 larvae were detected in rural areas and 430 in urban areas. Authorities have pledged to intensify their efforts against mosquito breeding, with ADC Ashraf emphasizing the strict enforcement of dengue SOPs throughout the city.

The meeting included Assistant Commissioners and officials from the Health Department, who are now working to ensure effective implementation of preventive measures in both rural and urban areas.
