Islamabad: In a gripping showdown at Multan Cricket Stadium, the seventh match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9 witnessed Multan Sultans emerging victorious against defending champions Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Qalandars kicked off their innings on a shaky note with the early dismissal of Sahibzada Farhan, setting the tone for a challenging battle ahead.
However, a resilient partnership between Fakhar Zaman and Rasi Vander Doosan bolstered Lahore’s innings, adding an impressive 94 runs to the scoreboard before Osama Mir’s breakthrough sent Dawson packing after a solid 54-run contribution.
Despite the efforts of Sultans’ bowlers to curb the flow of runs, Qalandars’ batsmen continued to amass crucial runs, with Fakhar Zaman’s departure at 114 marking a pivotal moment in the match.
Yet, Lahore Qalandars pressed on, fueled by Sikandar Raza, Jahandad Khan, Carlos Braithwaite, and Abdullah Shafiq’s spirited contributions, ultimately setting a competitive target of 166 runs for Sultans.
