News Desk
Multan: The Women University Multan Department of Applied Psychology has launched the ‘HumRaaz’ app and Helpline ‘1166’ to provide a platform for individuals to seek professional guidance and support in matters related to mental well-being.
The launch of the Mental Health App and Integrated Helpline is a significant leap towards a mentally healthier and happier Multan. Its aim is to provide free consultation services to citizens and students to improve the quality of life for individuals grappling with deteriorating mental health.
The ‘HumRaaz’ app is designed to serve as a convenient and accessible resource, allowing users to access mental health consulting services at their fingertips.
Vice Chancellor Dr Kalsoom Paracha stressed that neglecting mental well-being could lead to severe consequences, including depression, anxiety and an increased risk of physical health issues such as heart disease, diabetes and hypertension.
Registrar Dr Memoona Khan added that poor mental health could also adversely impact an individual’s relationships, work-life balance, and overall productivity.
The app allowed students to seek confidential and discreet online help for mental health issues, ensuring their privacy was maintained throughout the process, further stated Student Affairs Director Dr Adeela Saeed.
This initiative aligns with the strategic reforms proposed by the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination (NHSRC). APP
