94 New Dengue Cases Reported Across Punjab

Lahore:  The Punjab Health Department has reported 94 new cases of dengue fever in the province over the last 24 hours, raising alarm over the increasing spread of the virus.

Rawalpindi has been particularly affected, accounting for 83 of the new cases, while Attock reported 6, Mianwali 3, and Jhelum 2 cases.

In the past week, a total of 594 new dengue cases have been identified, bringing the cumulative total to 1,552 infections in Punjab for the year 2024.

A spokesperson from the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department reassured the public that the government is taking all necessary measures to manage the outbreak, with government hospitals fully stocked with medicines and treatment options for dengue patients.

The Health Department has issued an advisory urging residents to maintain clean and dry surroundings to help limit the virus’s spread. Citizens’ cooperation is crucial, as health teams are actively working throughout the province to control the situation.
