8 Killed, 1,215 Injured in 1122 Punjab Road Accidents

Lahore: At least eight people were killed and 1,215 others sustained injuries in 1,122 road accidents across all 37 districts of Punjab within the past 24 hours.

Among the injured, 522 individuals with severe injuries were shifted to hospitals, while rescue medical teams treated 685 others with minor injuries at the scene, thereby alleviating the strain on medical facilities.

Furthermore, the analysis revealed that 636 drivers, 36 underage drivers, 170 pedestrians, and 409 passengers were among the victims.

Statistics indicate that Lahore reported 265 accidents, affecting 295 individuals, making it the district with the highest number of incidents.

Following Lahore, Faisalabad recorded 87 accidents and 89 victims, while Multan had 70 accidents and 66 victims.

The data also highlights the involvement of various vehicles in the accidents, including 1,024 motorbikes, 54 autorickshaws, 112 cars, 21 vans, 9 buses, 24 trucks, and 72 other types of vehicles and carts.
