Beijing: A powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake hit the Drake Passage at 10:16 a.m. Friday (Beijing Time), the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) reported.

The epicenter was located at 60.25 degrees south latitude and 62.30 degrees west longitude, with a depth of 10 kilometers, according to the center.
