5.2-Magnitude earthquake jolt Karachi, no casualties reported

Karachi: An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck various parts of Karachi late Monday night, causing panic among residents but resulting in no reported casualties or damage.
According to Dunya News, tremors were felt in several areas, including I.I. Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Clifton, PECHS, DHA, SITE Area, Tipu Sultan Road, Pehlwan Goth and Bahria Town. Residents rushed out of their homes in fear, with many reciting verses from the Holy Quran.

The National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) in Islamabad said the epicentre was located about 87 kilometres northwest of Karachi at a depth of 12 kilometres.
Earlier in the day, a separate earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale was reported in Sibi and surrounding areas of Balochistan. The NSMC said the epicentre of that quake was 53 kilometres northwest of Sibi, with a depth of 11 kilometres.
Authorities confirmed that no loss of life or property was reported from either incident.
