Peshawar: The Capital City Police Peshawar has finalized a comprehensive security plan to ensure law and order during Eid-ul-Fitr.

As part of the plan, 3,500 police personnel will be deployed across the city to maintain public safety. Police leaves have been canceled, and patrolling by rider squads and mobile units has been intensified, according to an official statement issued on Saturday.

Security has been heightened at all entry and exit points of the city, with additional personnel stationed in key markets and along major roads. Plainclothes officers have also been deployed to monitor suspicious activities.

Sensitive locations, government buildings, and Eid prayer grounds will receive enhanced security, including the deployment of female officers and mounted police in busy market areas. The Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU), Special Combat Unit, armored police vehicles, and sniffer dog teams will conduct preemptive security sweeps at key Eid prayer sites.

CCPO Peshawar Qasim Ali Khan and SSP (Operations) Masood Ahmed have directed divisional SPs to take strict action against aerial firing on Chand Raat. They have also urged collaboration with religious scholars and community leaders to discourage the practice.

Security will remain on high alert throughout the Eid holidays at recreational spots, public offices, markets, bus stands, and all entry and exit points of the city to ensure a peaceful celebration.
