3.2 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Karachi
News Desk
Karachi: A light earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale was recorded in Karachi on Wednesday morning, sparking mild tremors across parts of the city.
According to the National Seismological Centre, the quake struck at 9:34 am with its epicentre located 7 kilometres northwest of Malir. It was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres, classifying it as a shallow earthquake—often felt more strongly on the surface despite lower magnitude.
Residents in several areas, particularly around Malir, reported feeling light vibrations. However, the mild intensity meant the tremors were short-lived and caused no panic or damage.
Authorities confirmed that normal life in the city remained unaffected.
