27 Candidates Contesting Elections for NA-51 Murree

Rawalpindi: A total of 682,043 registered voters, comprising 351,694 males and 330,349 females, are expected to exercise their right to vote in NA-51, APP reported.

Over 600,000 registered voters are poised to cast their votes for 27 candidates, including 19 independents, participating in the general elections scheduled for February 8 in Rawalpindi district. The total registered voter count stands at 682,043, with 351,694 males and 330,349 females exercising their right to franchise.

The district administration has completed all necessary arrangements for the upcoming general election, and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released a polling scheme for NA-51 constituency.

Under this scheme, the Murree district administration, following Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta’s directives, has finalized administrative measures, including security arrangements, to ensure law and order.

A total of 559 polling stations will be established, with 100 each for male and female voters and 359 combined stations. The Rawalpindi-cum-Murree constituency will have 1,433 booths in total.

As per the polling scheme for NA-51, there will be 559 presiding officers, 2,966 assistant presiding officers, 1,433 polling officers, and 599 assistants.

Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta has instructed the relevant authorities to complete all arrangements for the general elections in accordance with the code of conduct issued by the ECP.

Furthermore, he emphasized the implementation of the ECP’s code of conduct in Murree and urged the provision of all necessary facilities for voters.

Strict monitoring of all activities is mandated, and special security measures are to be finalized for sensitive polling stations, as directed by Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta.
