17 Public Health School Students Faint After Gas Leakage

Abbottabad: At least 17 students of the Public Health School (LHV) in Abbottabad fainted on Friday following a gas leakage incident and were rushed to Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) for medical treatment.

Hospital sources said that five of the affected students were reported to be in critical condition after losing consciousness and experiencing severe symptoms, including nausea, vomiting and breathing difficulties. All the students were transported to ATH in a college vehicle and provided immediate medical assistance upon arrival.

According to hospital officials, one student was admitted to the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), two were shifted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU), and one to Medical Ward C. The remaining students are being kept under observation in the emergency department under the supervision of doctors.

The hospital administration, under the supervision of Medical Director Prof Dr Saqib Malik, along with doctors, nurses, paramedics and support staff, responded promptly to the emergency and ensured timely treatment.

A spokesperson for ATH said that all necessary medical facilities are being provided to the affected students and that their condition is being closely monitored.
