Islamabad: Islamabad Capital Police Inspector General (IG) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired a high-level security meeting on Saturday, attended by senior police officials.
An official source told APP that the meeting reviewed security arrangements for the last Ashra (phase) of Ramadan, the security of religious processions, and the overall crime situation in the federal capital.
IG Rizvi commended police officers and personnel for successfully ensuring security during the Youm-e-Hazrat Ali procession. He also assessed security measures for the upcoming processions at Bari Imam and G-7.
To maintain law and order, IG Rizvi announced that more than 1,500 officers and personnel will be deployed across the city during the religious processions.
He emphasized that security will remain on high alert in connection with Pakistan Day on March 23. Additional patrolling will be conducted around mosques and imambargahs, particularly for worshippers observing Itikaf.
Furthermore, he directed that foot patrols be intensified in marketplaces, and checking at entry and exit points be further strengthened. Citizens traveling for Eid holidays will also be provided with security awareness.
“The last Ashra of Ramadan holds great significance, and every officer must remain diligent and fully alert while performing their duties,” IG Rizvi stated.
