109 New Covid Cases Reported In 24hrs: NIH

Islamabad: As many as 109 new Coronavirus cases are reported nationwide during the last 24 hours. The case positivity ratio is 2.30 percent and 21 patients are in critical condition, confirmed Health officials.

As per the data shared by the National Institute of Health (NIH), no death is reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 4,731 Covid-19 tests are conducted nationwide.

National Health Services Regulations and Coordination (NHSRC) Minister Abdul Qadir Patel said that the government has reinforced the role of the Border Health Services Pakistan for the purpose of handling any Covid-19 sub-variants.

He informed that airports are included in the surveillance system, which is present at all entry points to the country. There will be rapid testing and screening of passengers at all airports.

90 percent of the populace has already gotten the Covid-19 vaccine, Patel added.

“Pakistan has a fully operational system with a qualified management team that is ready to prepare an emergency plan to handle any sub-variant of Covid-19 and to remain attentive,” the NHSRC minister added.

Abdul Qadir stated that Border and Health Services Pakistan is responsible for ensuring the application of international health regulations. He further added that the country’s health system is completely equipped to handle any sub-variant of the Omicron form of Covid-19, including BF.7, in the event of an unfortunate circumstance.
