Civil society activists are calling on the government to enhance child protection measures and establish special centers in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
Child rights activist and former NCRC member Dr. Rubina Fareed emphasized the importance of facilitating and protecting children. Psychologist Dr. Bashir Ahmad noted that child abuse can lead to psychological issues and that high-quality protection centers could significantly benefit children by supporting better social and academic performance.
Dr Ahmad also pointed out that cases involving children often include multiple risk factors, such as risks both inside and outside the home.
Domestic abuse is frequently combined with other issues, such as emotional abuse and parental mental health problems. Concerns about other family members, including issues related to domestic abuse and substance misuse, often co-exist with these risks.
