Bahawalpur: Defending champion Zain Mahmood has once again roared to victory in the final round of the prepared category at the 20th International Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally 2025. Hailing from Bahawalpur, Zain showcased his exceptional off-road driving skills, covering the grueling 216-kilometer track in an impressive two hours and fifty-six minutes.
His closest rival, Meer Nadir Magsi, a veteran of the sport and multiple-time champion, secured second place, finishing just two minutes behind Zain. Meer Jaffar Magsi claimed third place with a time exceeding three hours, while Sahibzada Sultan finished fourth.
The high-octane prepared category race unfolded over two thrilling phases in the breathtaking landscape of the Cholistan Desert.
In Friday’s initial round, Zain took an early lead, setting the stage for his ultimate triumph. The final showdown on Sunday solidified his dominance as he successfully defended his title from last year.
A total of 32 vehicles lined up for the final phase, including two female drivers, adding to the excitement and diversity of the competition. Originally set to commence from Dilwash Stadium, Derawar Fort, the starting point for the second phase was later shifted to Shikarwala Toba.
The rally, a hallmark event of Pakistan’s motorsports calendar, saw high-performance sports vehicles tear through the vast, golden dunes of Cholistan, weaving through historic landmarks that echo the region’s rich heritage.
As engines roared and dust clouds billowed, the Dilwash Stadium, Derawar Fort, remained the heart of the event, where thousands of motorsport enthusiasts gathered to witness the spectacle.
With yet another thrilling victory under his belt, Zain Mahmood has cemented his name in the history of the International Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally, proving once again that he is the king of the dunes
