Zahid Apologizes After ‘Influencers Will Go to Hell’ Backlash
News Desk
Islamabad: Actor Zahid Ahmed has issued a public apology after facing widespread backlash for his controversial statement claiming that “all social media influencers will go to hell.”
In a video posted on social media, the ‘Zahe Naseeb’ actor expressed regret over his remarks, saying, “I feel guilty that I declared them wrongdoers.”
He clarified that his comments were not directed at all content creators but specifically at those behind social media platforms. “I crossed my limits in sentiments,” Zahid said, admitting that no one has the right to label others as sinful except God.
The controversy began following Zahid’s appearance on a podcast with actor Ahmed Ali Akbar, where he criticized social media, calling it “the work of the devil” and warning that those who create content for such platforms would face divine punishment.

His remarks drew sharp criticism from several digital creators, including influencer Adnan Zafar, known as Ken Doll, who accused the actor of hypocrisy and questioned why influencers were being judged differently from others in the entertainment industry.
Responding to the backlash, Zahid issued a swift apology, admitting that his words were harsh and misinterpreted. He explained that his criticism was intended for the creators of social media platforms, not content creators themselves.
Recognizing his influence over young audiences, he said he felt compelled to correct his statement, acknowledging that it had sent the wrong message.
